HEALTH SCI HCS/305

As a health care professional, you will need to create a resume specifically for your career situation and goals whether you are just entering the workforce or already have some health care experience. A resume can help showcase your professionalism, which is also important as you work to advance your career through personal and professional growth.

Preparing for the Assessment

Research resumes for ideas to use in your own. Be sure not to plagiarize; just use the resumes as inspiration.

Assessment Deliverable

Complete the Resume Template (or create one of your own) with the following information:

Objective statement (your goal of creating this resume)
Current skills you have that you can leverage (either personal or professional) to achieve a position with a potential health care employer
Education and past experience

Make sure your resume is well organized and thoroughly copy-edited to project a professional image to potential employers.

After you have created your resume, write a 350- to 700-word reflection addressing the following:

Skills/achievements you will need to develop for your future career
Strategies you will employ to gain the required skills needed for your career choice or for future advancement opportunities in your existing career
How you will project a professional image to potential employers, both in the resume/cover letter/application phase as well as the interview phase
Strategies for continuing your professional growth and advancement once you are employed in the health care field
